Gazing the Shades of White
Cicada 以台灣的山海為座標，十餘年旅程，從風沙和水域的邊境到蓊鬱青森濕潤的吐息，臨摹這年輕嶼地。《凝視白色的邊界》循冰而行，跨越南北半球，見證一片片白色疆域尚存的姿態，以一段旅程回應另一段無法逆行的流徙。
在格陵蘭的伊盧利薩特峽灣，巨大的冰體在海面漂浮。冰河行跡和蜿蜒的熔岩攀附在冰島的高地健行路上；從瓦特納冰川到傑古沙龍冰河湖，那裡有無數個一塊冰輕盈悄然的生滅。
台灣是專輯的中繼，也是一切的伊始。雪山翠池承載創作者最初被山林召喚的時刻，挺拔的玉山圓柏環抱著一汪剔透琉璃，是冰河曾走過的痕跡，與世界南北遙相呼應。
專輯的後半部轉向紐西蘭南島。聖山庫克之下，弦樂與管樂長音如呼吸，奏出行者與山同頻的寂靜。霧散之後，流水刻鑿山體的紋理銘刻著末世的啟示；而在終曲〈也許終將成為神話〉裡，消逝的冰被想像成未來的傳說，一種在集體記憶中或將遺失的預言。
《凝視白色的邊界》試圖以輕巧的樂音、個人旅行的故事性視角，觸及龐然難解的氣候變遷議題：關於攀升的溫度、冰原的新綠和不斷退縮的雪白邊界，而浮冰之間是無路的海。Cicada以創作採集無數個旅途中凝視的一瞬，讓我們去意識永恆地景的消亡，將那些難以言述的悵然，化為與聆聽者私密的共享時刻。
For more than a decade, Cicada has woven Taiwan’s mountains, seas, and landscapes into sound. “Gazing the Shades of White” opens a journey from island to island, following the traces of glaciers across both hemispheres, from Iceland and Greenland to New Zealand, and back to Taiwan to seek the traces left by ancient glaciers.
Colossal ice bodies drift in Greenland’s Ilulissat fjord. Along Iceland’s highland trails, glaciers meet the remnants of lava flows. Between Vatnajökull and Jökulsárlón, countless fragments of ice quietly dissolve into time. At Taiwan’s Snow Mountain, a glacial lake rests beside long-standing junipers. Beneath Aoraki, the traveler finds silence in sync with the mountain.
Through delicate sound and moments gathered on the road, Cicada turns the disappearance of eternal landscapes into intimate encounters between music and listener.
